The description on the back states: "Redlands, beautifully situated in San Bernardino Valley, eighty miles from the ocean and sixty miles east of Los Angeles, and is justly celebrated for its' [sic] climate and scenery. It is known as the home of the orange. Has a population of about 12,000 with a property valuation of over $16,000.000." This is a two-1/2-story building with a bell tower and dormer window, as well as a prominent chimney. This University Club was founded before the University of Redlands, organized in 1902, with construction of this building in 1903 on the southeast corner of Fern and Cajon Streets. It was for men with a university education. The publisher's number 5002 is along the dividing line on the back, along with the phrase "Made in Germany." The card was manufactured between 1907 (divided back) and 1915, when the publisher closed its doors.
