Burrage Residence and Mount San Bernardino, Redlands, California
Behind fruit and other trees in the foreground a Spanish-style mansion with two mission-type belltowers stands against a backdrop of San Bernardino Mountain. In an older postcard the fruit on the near tree on the right shows as orange. Built in 1901 by magnate Albert C. Burrage, it was also called the "House of 1,000 Stairs" because there were 100 steps outside and 900 stairs inside. The property included a polo field and a glass-covered pool. The Burrage mansion was purchased in 2008 and became the site of Micah House, an after-school ministry. The number 803 is in the lower right corner.
