Originally Rim of the World Drive, Rim of the World Highway was opened in 1915 as a 101-mile route from San Bernardino to Big Bear. California State Route 18 approximates the original road through the San Bernardino Mountains. In this image some rock formations jut up from a flat area in the foreground, with trees behind. The title continues, "offers to the traveler an unusual varied stone formation." The publisher's number 5256 is at the top of the dividing line on the back.
