[Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois]
A cantilevered through truss bridge across the Arizona-California border (the Colorado River) bears a steam train. The paragraph on the back is: "The Cantilever Bridge, at Needles, California, in the second largest in America. Its clear span is 660 feet. From this point can be seen the rock spires, known as the Needles. They form the head of the beautiful Mojave Canyon, into which the river plunges." Built in 1890 as a railroad bridge, it was converted for automobiles in 1947 (as Route 66), replaced in 1966 by the bridge on United States Highway 40, and demolished in 1978. The publisher's number H-1437 precedes the title in the bottom left white border. The Teich number is at the top of the dividing line on the back--A97946, from which the date was derived.
