A bowstring bridge has automobiles traveling on it in this black-and-white image. This was the Trails Arch Bridge (1916) that once carried Route 66 traffic between Arizona and California where the Colorado River is the boundary. Topock, Arizona, is downriver from Needles on the other side. After 1947 the bridge was preserved and converted to carrying pipelines, a National Register of Historic Places site since 1988. The same image had a different title that placed it "near Kingman" instead of Needles when printed for Kingman Drug Company.
