Mount San Bernadino from Redlands, California
Situated in an orange grove, a house is visible between two trees, with foothills and snowy mountains in the distance. San Bernardino Mountain is the tallest peak, just left of center. The house is the Burrage Mansion or "House of 1,000 Stairs" (1901) built by Albert C. Burrage as a seasonal estate. On the divided back, the publisher's number H86 is printed along with the railroad-promotion motto "On the Road of a thousand wonders." The publisher's logo also appears on the back.
