Mojave River, Santa Fe Railroad, Victorville, California
Photographic paper: Azo
The river appears to flow under the viewer as, off to the right, railroad racks lie atop an embankment shared with telephone poles. Cliffs are on either side, with hills in the distance. The most likely site is at the Upper Narrows of the Mohave River, just southeast of Victorville in Apple Valley. The publisher is not identified, but the number 2573 is on the right near the bottom, and the numeral 6 is in the right lower corner. The type of Azo photographic papers used to develop this Real Photo Post Card, as indicated by the configuration of the stampbox on the divided back, were manufactured from the 1920s to the 1940s.
