Flower beds and shade trees surround two men sitting on a park bench in front of two cannons and a pyramid of cannon balls. In the background is a brick church. The original public square became City Park, was renamed to Lugo Park, then finally Pioneer Park, shrinking in the process from a city block to a strip at the north end of that block. The church was built in 1910 to replace buildings that had been destroyed, remaining at the corner of 5th and F Streets. The Civil War cannons are at 6th and E Streets. The publisher's number is S. B. 3, and the Teich number at the top of the dividing line on the back is A-61244, from which the date is derived.
