The rebuilt Stewart Hotel is lit up, including the Citizens' Bank on the first floor. Vehicles, mainly horse drawn, wait in the streets. The hotel at Third and E Streets (later in the San Bernardino Civic Plaza) burned in 1892 and was rebuilt with a turret at the corner, replaced by the fourth floor with 40 new rooms and a ship's wheel ornament, shown here. When the hotel burned again in 1935, the bank bought the building, which became the Citizens' Bank Building.
