The description on the divided back states that the mission was "Founded 1786. Is one of the best known missions in Southern California: its structures are in very good condition to-day and are surrounded by beautiful gardens. Religious services are held there regularly as of old." Brother Ludger Glauber was the "host" at the Mission starting in 1903. He is shown here on the steps of a vine-covered cottage, inside an artful oval that spills over onto the frame to accommodate the small front garden. The card is part of "Art Series No. 61," according to the divided back, and it was "Made in Germany."
