The Potter Hotel squab ranch was a separate operation from their other ranch and farm in Goleta. Reportedly, it raised thousands of pigeons a year and sent the meat to the hotel's three dining rooms. Here hundreds of birds are on the ground, in the air, and on the roof of a building on the right. On the back, separate from the publisher's information, number 4491, and location information "Made in Germany" beside the dividing line, is the phrase "On the Road of a Thousand Wonders," a railroad promotional motto. There is also a number upside down in the stampbox, 57892.
