Santa Barbara
Blank, James
The words "Santa Barbara" are emblazoned across the right side of the image as if in broad, large strokes of cursive handwriting. The viewpoint is most likely the clocktower ("El Mirador") at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse, looking across the top of the rotunda northeast to the mountains and the neighborhood of Montecito. This courthouse was designed by William Mooser III after the destruction of the 1875 courthouse in the 1925 earthquake, opened 1929. The publisher's logo, a drawing of the Mission Santa Barbara, is at the top of the dividing line on the back, along with their number SB10115.
