East Mission runs mostly southwest from a few blocks southeast of Laguna Street, on which the Mission Santa Barbara is located. After crossing United States Highway 101 (California State 1) on the south it changes to West Mission and makes an eastward ell with Robbins Street. Here a rural dirt road with streetcar tracks is traversed by a one-horse shay with two people and a person getting on or off a single horse. The publisher's number is on the divided back, 3811, along with the notice "Made in Germany." Divided backs were allowed starting in 1907, and the publisher ended business in 1915.
