The community of Avila Beach lies below mountain trails among ophiolite rocks in the foreground, just north of Pismo Beach. The printed paragraph on the divided back claims to be an "Expanded view of the city of Pismo Beach, California, curve of the bay to Oceano Beach and beyond. Famous sand dunes in the far distance. This bay is rich in clams and is quite an attraction of tourist and the week-enders." The Bay is San Luis Obispo Bay, and the city of Oceano lies south of Pismo Beach. Beyond Oceano to the south are the Pismo Dunes Natural Preserve, the Oceano Dunes State Recreation Area, and the Gualupe-Nipomo Dunes National Wildlife Refuge. This is a European size, deckle card with a white border at the bottom.
