Standing nearly 12,000 feet above Palm Springs, Mount San Jacinto was snowcapped most of the year. The desert in the foreground is shown in bloom in the spring.

This American-made postcard is one of a series of such cards made by the Union Oil Company. In this year, this "Natural Color Scenes of the West" group advertising Union 76 gasoline and given to service-station customers had numbers indicating the year, here 47-M-31. The divided back has publisher's logos and a short descriptive paragraph.
