[printed in blue above message panel]
In May each year, Riverside stages a pageant n honor of California's $500,000,000 citrus industry and in commemoration ofthe planting of the two parent navel orange trees by Mrs. Eliza Tibbets in 1873. Every phase of the culture, packing and marketing of the orange is presented in the pageant by decorated floats. The annual Orange Dinner is held in the evening following the pageant. Thousands of visitors witness theh pageant and visit the parent navel orange tree, which still bear fruit in its shrine on Magnolia Avenue.
