A Mission Revival structure with steps leading up to an arched entrance stands next to an outbuilding, with trees on either side. This building (1904) was built by and home to the "D" company of the seventh infantry of the California National Guard, formed in 1886. Before it was disbanded in 1919, this company was sent to provide aid after the San Francisco earthquake and fire, patrolled the Mexican border in 1916, served in the Spanish-American War, and guarded shipyards in Long Beach. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as part of the Edison Historic District. The publisher's and contributor's numbers are on the divided back.
