The title of this picture of the California Polytechnic campus in Pomona continues: "cacti in bloom." The main desert plant visible is yucca, not a cactus. The yellow and purple flowers are unknown. In 1956 faculty, students and staff moved from the previous San Dimas site to the one donated by W. K. Kellogg, the cereal magnate. In 1972 the school became a university.
