Ostriches in an enclosure at Cawston Ostrich Farm
Although Cawston's Ostrich Farm raised birds to sell their feathers, they also had a tourist business partially promoted through streetcar lines that ran to the farm. This picture is exactly like a photograph or card in the Local History Collection of the South Pasadena Public Library with the title given here. Otherwise the card itself has no title. A flock of ostriches is inside a large paddock with trees inside and outside the enclosure. Only the number in the right lower corner is different from the item in the library collection--259. This untraveled card has a divided back, so it dates from 1907 or later.
