Cawston Ostrich Farm, South Pasadena, Callifornia
Although Cawston's Ostrich Farm raised birds to sell their feathers, they also had a tourist business partially promoted through streetcar lines that ran to the farm. Ostriches pulled carts and carriages, and there were tours, clothing, and souvenirs for sale. The publisher's number on the divided back of this German-made card is 6188. The divided back and German origin define the date range of this card in that messages were allowed on the address side starting in 1907, and manufacture of United States cards stopped being exported to Germany sometime between 1914 and 1915.
