Theo. Sohmer, Los Angeles, California
Although Cawston's Ostrich Farm raised birds to sell their feathers, they also had a tourist business partially promoted through streetcar lines that ran to the farm. Ostriches pulled carts and carriages, and there were tours, clothing, and souvenirs for sale. In this picture two birds on the left are fighting, plumes upraised, while the flock on the right is uninvolved. This is one of many postcards with this image but different fonts for the title, margins, and so on, including PC-001-923.
