Curt Teich and Company, Chicago, Illinois
This is a color foldout postcard with images of Pasadena and surrounding area. originally published by Teich and Western Publishing individually. These are the third through fifth images from the second side: "Santa Rosa Avenue, Altadena"; "Devils Gate Dam, Arroyo Seco"; and "Hotel Huntington." Santa Rosa Avenue in Altadena, a community sharing the northern border of Pasadena, is known as "Christmas Tree Lane," lined with deodar cedars; the postcard bears the Teich number A85869, indicating publication in 1921. The Devil's Gate Dam on the Arroyo Seco River was constructed in 1920 to control flood waters, and the road over it was at one point the main road between La Cañada and Pasadena. Until around 1926 the Hotel Huntington was a winter only resort.
