Birdseye View of Resorts near Los Angeles, California
1910s

A distorted view looking east over the Los Angeles Basin makes Venice and its pier not only central but much enlarged. Other attractions include the Soldier's Home, Santa Monica, Sawtelle, Sherman, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Ocean Park, and the Motordrome. Venice of America's 1,200-foot-long pier had an auditorium, restaurant, and dance hall. Pacific Electric's red cars plied the route shown here. The Motordrome was only open from 1910 until 1913, limiting the date of this card.
