Saber-tooth tiger, from La Brea Tar Pits, Los Angeles Museum, Los Angeles, California
Photographic paper: Defender
Fossil bones have been reconstructed into a skeleton of a saber-tooth tiger, standing next to a sketch of what the animal might have looked like. The bones were in the original Los Angeles Museum built in 1913 in Exposition Park, which had the exclusive rights to remove remains from the La Brea Tar Pits. This is a Real Photo Post Card using a run of photographic paper that was made from 1910 to 1920.
