This picture looks north on Main Street. The depot was at Sixth and Main and was the first skyscraper in Los Angeles. The Pacific Electric Red Cars were taken out of service in 1961 and scrapped. Four counties were serviced at the peak of operation, on over 1,000 miles of track that was torn out starting in 1948. The building (1905) was named for Henry E. Huntington, then owner of the Pacific Electric Railway and was renovated to become Pacific Electric Lofts.
