Winter scene at Westlake Park, Los Angeles, California
Two women sit outside a rustic pavilion while just below them a man with paddles sits in a rowboat on the lake with two other women and a small girl. Westlake Park became MacArthur Park and was designated City of Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument Number 100. The publisher's number on the divided back is A 60. The card was made in Germany, which circumscribes the dates, given that divided backs like this one were not permitted until 1907, and around 1914 cards were no longer made in Germany. The slogan on the back, "On the Road Of A Thousand Wonders" indicates that this card was part of a promotion for the Coast Line-Shasta Route of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
