Los Angeles High School, Los Angeles, California
The VanOrnum Colorprint Co., Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles High School (1891) here has a four-story brick building with a clocktower atop Fort Moore Hill in the context of residences below it. It was located on north Hill Street between California and Bellevue (renamed Sunset, then Cesar Chavez). The publisher's number on the divided back is A 90. The slogan on the back, "On the Road Of A Thousand Wonders" indicates that this card was part of a promotion for the Coast Line-Shasta Route of the Southern Pacific Railroad. Dates of the card are circumscribed by a change in postal regulations allowing divided backs like this one in 1907, and the fact that Los Angeles High School moved to a new building in 1917.
