Bathers stand and swim in the Pacific Ocean next to the Pleasure Pier. Edward Henry Mitchell (1867-1932) was a publisher who began manufacturing postcards in around 1893. He is described as the most prolific postcard publisher in the Western United States. The publisher's number in the left margin of the card is 145. The earlist known date for the use of the style of the undivided back of this postcard is 1904, but after March of 1907, divided backs were allowed and were published, circumscribing the date of this card.
