"The Pike," Long Beach, California
M. Kashower Co., Los Angeles, California
The Pike was an amusement zone in Long Beach, along the beach. Crowds surge past a building with yellow awnings that is the site of the later Rialto Theatre that opened in 1917. The bathhouse is the building with the white pillars and the green and red towers behind them. A sign on the right adertises the Theatorium, a motion picture theater, seen here from behind. The entire concession's contract ran out in 1979, after which the remaining buildings were demolished. The publisher's number on the back is 472. Kashower's number may be on the back but obscured by an inked stamp.
