January 25, 1892 T. D.. Yeomans, Esq., Dear Sir:-
Your favor of the 22nd inst., regarding the brakeman's complaints is at hand. Will you please ascertain from him what train he is running on, and whether he is not in the employe of the railroad. Do this without arousing his suspicion.
Our records do not show that he was here on the 7th inst., and no one in the office remembers seeing him, and he certainly never was charged $1.50 for a dinner, for we never charge anyone more than $1.25, that being the regular price. Get at the bottom of the matter without getting him suspicious, and send me the facts, as I am going to go above him, and find what he means by making such statements. Evidently he is prejudices against us for some cause.

Dear Sir:-
Mr Brown has returned.
It has alone been decided that we will commence at once on the construction of the Otay Dam, believing it will be safe to contract for irrigation for at least eight thousand acres of land.
I shall be absent three or four days, and on my return should like you to accompany Mr Brown and myself, to look at the dam site, and to confer with him regarding a probable future [unknown]
