Gentlemen:-
The Hotel Westminster, Los Angeles, tells me you deliver live quail, express prepaid, for $1.25 per dozen. I wish you would send me about tex dozen, invoicing to the Hotel del Coronado, so I can see how they turn out. Also please inquire of your express agent the express rate on quail in lots of from 300 to 500, to Jacksonville, Fla., or other points taking Florida rates. I think I will have an order sent you. Of course, you would have to charge for the crates, unless you arranged with the express company to return the crates to you.

Dear Sir:-
Your message of the 21st inst., stating it would not be necessary for me to come to San Francisco, as you expected to reach here the latter part of the coming week, was received.

There are some matters of a different nature calling me to San Francisco, at any rate, and I have concluded to leave here Monday, after the departure of the National Press League excursion and will call on you Tuesday.
