Babcock writes to Buck with thanks for "making arrangements to give us as much road as possible, so as to get out of the way of the Chilians when they come."


Babcock writes to the Capital Soap Company with a notice that grease has been shipped, and to notify that the hotel has plenty of soap at present.

My dear Mr Buck:-
I desire to thank you and the members if your board for making arrangements to give us as much road as possible, so as to get out of the way of the Chilians when they come. My secretary suggests that we begin taking in our iron pier at nights, to prevent them landing while we sleep.

One of our lady boarders, evidently much in earnest, was congratulating herself on the fact that her room is on the court side of the building, so she would be safe in case of [unknown]

We have shipped you ten bbls of grease, via steamer, per enclosed, shipping receipt.

Kindly remit us in cash the best price you can allow, as we have plenty of soap on hand at present and do not care to buy more.
