Messrs Armour & Co.,
Kansas City, Mo.,

Gentlemen:-
Your letter of the 3rd inst., is at hand. Also yours of the 28th ult., which I find on my return from San Francisco.

I do not understand your letter of the 28th ult., or why the percentage is greater on chickens, head and feet off, undrawn, than drawn. Nor why you charge so much more in quotations of 3rd inst. than in quotations of the 28th; turkeys two cents more, spring chickens 1 ½ cents more, hens 1 ½ cents more, ducks 1 ½ cts more. Do not understand this, because on the same date, Oct. 28th, we had quotations from Kansas City, giving us the same on hens and a half cent less on turkeys, spring chickens, geese and ducks.

Have not decided yet to send orders for car load, as believe chickens will be cheaper than what you quote. Will you arrange to have come out in your car chickens and turkeys, if we find we can get them from others at a lower price than from you? Are the prices you quote on tenderloins the lowest you can give?

We shall have a very full house and will use a great deal but must get the lowest prices possible. Notice, too, in quotations of 3rd inst., you say poultry undrawn, though head and feet off.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock
