My dear Mr Dolbeer:-
I have just heard from R. A. Graham, Esq., of the unfortunate treatment you appear to have received during your last stay at our hotel, in the dining room. I am extremely sorry that you did not tell me of the ill treatment at the time, so I could have sifted it to the bottom. I shall always esteem it as a personal favor, if you ever hear of any criticism regarding any part of the hotel, to let me know of same. In regard to coffee, I can hardly understand why it was not good when you were here, and cannot help thinking the waiter must have been to blame. We have always bought our coffee of the same grade, mixed in the same way, and it is the best grade we could get, buying always from one house and there is no reason for it not being of equal quality when you were here. Regarding butter, there are times when an occasional roll will slip out onto the main tables that is a little strong, but we do not stop at any expense to get the best butter obtainable, and, as a rule, I think there is not much complaint on that score, in fact, your complaint is the second one I have had in the past six months. We have expended much more on our table during the past year than ever before, and I am sorry that you had such an experience here, and hope you will not hesitate to come back the next time you visit this region, and also that you will not fail to advise me should you see or experience anything that is unpleasant or not up to standard.

Yours truly,
[unknown]
