Mr Armour Sloan,
Chef Hotel Pleasanton,
San Francisco, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
Our baker has recommended you as chef for this hotel, stating you were a man who does not use intoxicating liquors of any kind or allow them to be used by employees under you. I write to know whether you would like to change your position, and, if so, what salary you would want. We have not yet determined to make a change in Chefs, but if we do decide to change the change will be made late in the season, about May.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock Jr.
Manager
