Mr Ball:
Wish you would go over to the North Island and select with Fred or the man in charge there about thirty of the poorest hogs and haul them over to the pens for fattening. I was at the pens yesterday and saw what seemed to be a thoroughbred Berkshire young sow that should have been kept. Would like you to keep from 30 to 50 more hogs there in the pen than you have at present, for fattening.

E. S. B.
If you cannot get more than 20 or 25 now, have them transferred

Are you not buying too large apples for the hotel? If you can get smaller ones, think it will be more economical.

D. P. N.
Was down to the pens, and found one hog there which was apparently a thoroughbred Berkshire, young sow, that should be kept. Am afraid Fred's judgment on hogs is not good, and I have requested Ball to go over and get about 30 of the poorest we have and have them hauled over.
