In my opinion, it is very important to see that the guests leave the hotel in the best possible humor, and as it is at a barbarous hour they are forced to arise to leave on the morning train, it is necessary that everything in connection with the breakfast and their departure is made pleasant.
It appears as though Mr McIntire's habits are to remain up late at night rather than get up early in the morning; and he may be able to do as much good watching late in the evening as he could early in the morning, as Robinson is up quite early in the rear of the house. But in the front, I wish you would, as long as the trains run at the present time, so arrange your hours as to be down in the office at least ten minutes before six. I have noticed the last few mornings, since my return from the country, a general lack of promptness about the early meal that shows a letting down in organization on the part of Donlon's force, and probably back of the dining room. I should like to have you watch these things and bid the guests good-bye when they leave in the 'bus. It is in this particular department where I think, after the lady cashiers are in position, you can do good.

2.
I will also ask Mr McIntire to get up occasionally and visit the rear of the house,

E. S. Babcock.
