Capt. Alexander,
Steamer Mexico,
San Francisco, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
Some of our guests have stated that the Captain of one of the Pacific Coast steamers has spoken disparagingly of the dining room service of our hotel. We should like very much if you would accept the invitation we have always held out to you, to come over every time you are in port and try our service, so you can speak from personal experience.
I do not know that you made the statement--do not believe you did--but it would be a pleasure to us to have you come over every time you are in San Diego and take dinner with us.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock
