Hunter, John C.
Addressing his letter to Jane Adams, Hunter says he is "luxuriating in the semi-leisure of the post-European war army of occupation." His company is attached to the XII Corps of the Third Army, "a spearhead corps of a spearhead army." He lists the places traversed by his company, with "no passes, no time off, and no fraternizing," the "hardest ten months of [his] life."
