This annual includes an aerial view encompassing the San Diego State College campus from Interstate 8 at the top past the pedestrian bridges. On the end papers the new brightly lit San Diego Stadium (later Jack Murphy Stadium and then Qualcomm) is shown in a hovering time-lapse photograph taken at night. A recruiter from Dow Chemical Company was confronted by an Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) member, and the Free Speech area became crowded with controversy. Attorney Melvin Belli spoke, Robert Kennedy campaigned, and so did Eugene's daughter Mary McCarthy (for her father). The Imperial Valley Campus (called the "Calexico Campus") has a two-page spread.
