Interview with Bettie J. Kujawa
Kujawa was Republican Precinct Chairman for San Diego County. She was married, with 4 children and 1 grandchild. A high school graduate, she was a "Navy wife," "a child bride, practically." She started ringing doorbells for the party in 1964 in her precinct and has continued to work for her party. She does not think of herself as a "women's libber" but believes she is liberated. She recognizes discrimination against women in politics.
