Steamer "Santa Rosa" at wharf Santa Monica, California

This black-and-white image shows a steamship docked at a wharf, with a sailing ship not far behind. The "Santa Rosa" was a cruise ship. This bears a striking resemblance to a photograph of the "Santa Rosa" at Wharf No. 1 in Redondo Beach with a ship at anchor nearby--from the other side of the wharf; even the smoke is blowing the same way. Since this card has an undivided back, white space has been left on the bottom for a message, and one has been written here in black ink. The cancellation and postmark have either bled through or rubbed off from another card. Another version of this card is in color. The publisher's number 126 precedes the title just below the picture on the left.

Dear Chump:- I'll write just as soon as I get time. I haven't got over that letter yet. I read it twice and I could hardly eat my dinner for laughing. I had a letter from Irene yesterday. Vinette.
