Railroad Bridge at Needles, California
American News Company, New York, Leipzig, Berlin, Dresden
This warm black-and-white image is of the Red Rock Bridge from San Bernardino County in California to Mohave County, Arizona. It was a lost through truss (cantilevered through truss) bridge built in 1890 that became an automobile highway (Route 66) in 1947. It was replaced in 1966 and demolished in 1978. The publisher's number on the back is B 407. The contributor's logo is on the back as a shamrock surrounded by the word "Excelsior" and its publishing sites. This card would have been manufactured between 1907 (divided back) and around 1915, when printing in Germany stopped during the First World War.
