San Berhardino, California City Park
San Bernardino, California, City Park
The city name is misspelled on this card. A path winds around a grassy space, flanked by trees on both sides. Someone is lying on the lawn near the tree in the left foreground. This originally block-wide and -long space was called by various names, from "Public Square," through "City Park," "Lugo Park," and then "Pioneer Park," between 5th and 6th Streets and E and F Streets. The white space on the bottom would have been for writing a message before postal regulations changed, but the back is divided (1907), allowing a message on the left. The card was made in Germany giving the dates 1907 (divided back) to around 1915 when it could have been made, given that publishers stopped outsourcing printing to Germany during World War I. The publisher's number in the lower left corner is 6678,
