Santa Barbara Mission, Santa Barbara, California
This is a linen card with a gold border surrounding a view of the Mission Santa Barbara from a nearby hill, clearly showing the characteristic two towers with the neoclassic facade. A statement on the back reads: "The Santa Barbara Mission, 'Queen of the Missions,' where the altar lights have burned continuously for more than 150 years, houses a treasure of priceless relics brought from Spain by the first padres." The publisher's number S. B. 2 precedes the title in the upper left border. The so-called "linen era" of postcards covered approximately 1930 to 1945, coinciding with the founding of the publisher sometime in the 1930s.
