Montecito, here misspelled, is a neighborhood of Santa Barbara. This "handcolored" card (as called on the divided back) shows a long pool surrounded by lawn, palm trees, and shrubs. In the distance is a house begun by architect George Washington Smith in 1920, for De Witt Parshall, a painter, and completed for son Douglas Parshall in 1924. Smith was also responsible for the landscaping. In Spanish, "cielito" means "little piece of heaven."
