Driveway through Hope Ranch, near Santa Barbara, California
The image on this card appears to be framed, showing an oak tree that overhangs a single lane of road, with flowers growing on either side. At the top of the card, between the "frame" and the edge, is a phrase handwritten in cursive using pencil, "on the "Cliff drive." Hope Ranch is an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County on the western border of Santa Barbara, bounded on the south by the Pacific Ocean. Cliff Drive in 2014 begins on the east at Castillo street in Santa Barbara and continues until it changes names at Marina Drive on the west, with that name change marking the city limit. The publisher is also shown as "The Rieder" on the divided back, with its image number 32, "made in Germany," and another number in the lower right corner, 185151. The slogan "On the Road of a Thousand Wonders" also appears on the back, making this out to be a tourist destination available by railroad.
