[Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois]
El Nido (Spanish for "The Nest") was the 1897 home of Charles and Mary Hopkins at Garden and Pedregosa Streets, designed by Francis Wilson in the Queen Ann Victorian style. Steps at the corner go up to a walkway leading to a front porch with an awning on the right. There is a central tower that gives the house a third story, and a turret on the right, with ivy climbing the front and a metal fence around the yard. Remodeled in 1930 by Mary Hopkins, the house underwent restoration in the 2000s. The Teich number at the bottom of the dividing line on the back is A-13900, from which the date is derived.
