Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois
This California Mission style hotel designed by Arthur Benton stretches across the card in three-quarter view from the entrance on the left to a turret on a wing on the right. It occupied the block bounded by Victoria, State, Sola and Chapala streets. The first, wooden, hotel burned in 1909, and the tower seen in this structure was destroyed in the 1925 earthquake when the water tank at the top collapsed. The Arlington Theater was built on the site after the hotel was razed in 1931. The Teich number at the top of the dividing line on the back is A-66323, from which the date was derived.
