Fairmount Park, Riverside, California
Fairmount Park was created when the City of Riverside bought 35 acres of land for use as a quarry for a road improvement initiative started in 1895. The area included North Hill, then called Fairmount Hill, and a meadow through which Spring Brook flowed. The purchase agreement called for the meadow to become a park, and Fairmount Lake was created by damming the brook. Visible here are two small bridges with people on them connecting islands and walkways through the park. George N. Reynolds donated improvements in 1910, which may have included the Japanese-style gate (torii) visible in the foreground over one of the walkways, since he was inspired by a trip to Asia.

The publisher's number is printed on the divided back: 25216N.
